When life, or your grandma, gives you lemons...

(Up top is a pic of what the baby looks like inside my belly right now: I'm 11wks 1 dy, the baby is about the size of a plum!)

New craving! Lemons with salt! But I've been careful about how and how often I eat them because I need my enamel!

Well, I haven't been on here in a while so I thought I've post something! Nothing really has been going on in our lives over the past couple of weeks, but I guess there is something I can report: I can feel my uterus! My belly is starting to get a little hard! (just wait, I'll go to the doctor and it'll not even be where I think it is and I'll have been wrong this whole time...haha! oh well a girl can dream :) ) I haven't been sick but I have been growing out of my clothes! There are some days where I can get any of my pants up and I get all depressed because nothing looks good! I'm hoping to go shopping soon for some new clothes that can last throughout the pregnancy, Old Navy has some really cute stuff that I can't wait to go check out!

I go back to the doctor on the 22nd and I can't wait to see what's in store! I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat! By the way, I'll be 13wks on the 22nd! It's going so incredibly fast! I'm sure when it's 115 out and I'm standing all day at work it'll start to slow down, haha, but until then I'm enjoying the new changes!

In life outside of baby we are beginning work on our backyard! We have a company coming to install a patio for us tomorrow! Unfortunately, having the whole thing landscaped professionally was WAY to expensive, so we're having to do everything else ourselves! So if any of you feel like helping us, let us know! ;) After the patio goes in I think we'll work on the sprinkler/drip system..Lord, please help us! So now you all that is going on with us! I'll be back in a couple weeks, after the doctor's appointment, to share any new news! Until later....

take a deep breath...

and exhale! *sigh* WE SAW THE BABIES HEARTBEAT TODAY! What an incredible feeling! Of course, I cried! I'm going to try to see if I can load the video or something. I don't have a scanner so I can't upload the pictures! The baby is doing well! The ultrasound tech said I'm 7wks 2dys and my due date is Sept. 28th! We are SO excited! It was the most exciting sight I've ever beheld! The little bleep-bleep-bleep on the screen! So amazing! Thank you Lord for this amazing little gift and thanks to all of you for all your prayers and well-wishings! We are so happy! Well, no need to drag this out, just wanted to let you all know! Thanks! Until later...

On Thursday...

So, we're waiting for Thursday, waiting, waiting, waiting. On thursday we're supposed to go in for another ultrasound and hopefully get to see a little heartbeat! So until then, it's all I can think about. Not much has gone on since I last posted. I'm extremely tired and lethargic and well..sort of moody. Alright, a lot moody! But I'm trying not to be a grouch! Brandon has been so patient, what a good husband! Also, this week, I have tried eating pretzels before bedtime and that's helped A LOT with the nightly run's to the restroom. I was getting up as much as 4 times a night, before the pretzels, because of all the water I've been drinking! Killer! What's the point in sleeping?! So, luckily this has seemed to help and I'll continue doing it. Still eating cheeseburgers like nobody's business! Ha! They're the best thing I've ever eaten! In-N-Out seem to be my favorite! Mmmm! Other than that, I haven't craved much of anything else.
This weekend is Winter Retreat with the kiddos. Hopefully I'm not too tired, moody or, heaven forbid, that's when my body decides to start throwing up everything! I'm very excited to go hang out with all of them so I would hate to not feel good the whole time! (Let's pray there is decent tasting food too!)
Well that's all for now, until later....

hamburgers for breakfast

Well, today marks the beginning of week 7! I can't believe it! So far things have still gone pretty easy for me! I haven't thrown up yet, I've been a little nauseous, but no making friends with the toilet so far! I guess that's a good thing, right? I have woken up during the night a couple times with an upset tummy, but a little whining to Brandon and some hot water with lemon has seemed to do the trick for now!
So far I have been craving hamburgers and french fries! The other day I had a hamburger on the way to work at 10am! Thank goodness for places like Sonic that serve everything, breakfast/lunch/dinner, at all hours of the day!
Tomorrow we have our first ultrasound! I can't wait! I know it will probably just be a little spot, but that's ok, it's OUR little spot ;) We get to bring a dvd to make a copy of the tape, I think that is such a cool feature! Thank you technology! My first doctor's appointment is on Wednesday and I'm very excited for that too, I'll get an official due date from my doctor!
Well, I just wanted to give a little update tonight, I'll post tomorrow and let everyone know how the ultrasound went! Until later...

A little plus sign....

So I have some news! Brandon and I have been trying for a baby for about the last 2 months and last Thursday afternoon we were blessed with a positive test! I followed up with my ob/gyn and received good blood results back yesterday! I haven't had this confirmed with the doctor yet, but according to the due date calculator I'm about 6 weeks along now and there will be a new little Hicok in mid-late September! The family is going nuts! We are very excited and continually thank God for our new little gift! I am doing well, just a tired and the tummy is a little upset, but I actually haven't thrown up yet! Luckily, neither has Brandon, haha! He has done very well, so cute and giddy! On Saturday night we went to church and I held my friend's baby, Riley, and Brandon played with him and held his little hand, it made me all mushy inside! ;) I got my first gift yesterday, from a client, can you believe it?! She was very sweet, she bought me a little Christmas outfit which will be the perfect size when it hits that time next year! I have had such the urge to rush out and buy things but I guess it's kind of impossible to shop (for the fun stuff I mean) without knowing the sex of the baby yet, so I have withheld! I just can't believe there's a little tadpole growing inside me! We call him/her our little orange seed, because that's about how big he/she is right now, I think that name and tadpole will stick for some reason. ;) Anyway, I will try to keep this blog going for out-of towners and anyone else who feels like reading it that way you can all keep up with baby news! Well, that's all for now!

So we finally received the closing date for our house yesterday! October 30th our house will be complete and we will have keys! Very exciting! I've decided to try and figure out this whole blog thing, so we'll see if I can get some pictures posted on here, they're a little post dated, but I have packed the picture upload thing (USB port...I think) to put the newer pictures of the house up, but hey, atleast it's something, right? We are very excited to start the next chapter of our lives and can't wait to fill our house will stuff and maybe even a baby or two! :) Until later...

Monday, August 24, 2009

Well, I'm putting off getting ready for work by writing this, but who cares. I dunno if I've ever written on here, so I guess it's time to start! Work was really slow this last week and is making me dread going in today to start the next week. Anyone else feel the same? :( Hopefully my efforts to draw people in (which I have been faithfully doing since last month!) will soon prove effective! I don't know how much more simple I can make it to get people to come get there hair done! I am going to start working at our Mesa location one day a week starting Tuesday Sept 1st, so that should be a new fun adventure, Mesa girls, Here I Come!

Our house is going up like a rocket! They should be dry-walling this week or atleast soon! I can't believe, it's just so real, right there in front of you! Kind of scary, but exciting too! I can't wait to decorate and fill it with warm and love...and maybe babies eventually! ;) If I can figure this thing out, maybe I'll post some pictures!

Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to say! Good-bye!
